We visited Le Papillon with our friends for a triple date. The food and service was better than many Michelin starred restaurants in that area. We all dressed up as the place has a strict dress code.

We had an option to choose between 3 course, 4 course, and tasting menu. We went for few 3 courses and few 4 courses. We toasted with Bonnet-Ponson Brut.

It has a very intimate feel to the restaurant.

Amuse Bouche

Lobster sausage

Very delicate flavors. It was my first time trying a shellfish sausage

Veggie Pave

This awesome bite, layers of avocado, olive, and pepper.

Grilled Deer carpaccio intermezzos

This was mind blowing.

Ragout of Burgundy Snails with Warm Fennel Panna Cotta and Parsley Puree

It was my first time trying snails. It was pleasantly surprised on how good the dish was.  This was my favorite dish for the night as well.

Truffled Hamachi Tartare with Avocado, Lemon and Pea Shoot Emulsion

Being a fan of ceviches and tartare I had to try this. Was very fresh. The hamachi tartare was light and citrusy, served with avocado and quail eggs.

Linguine and Prawns with Cognac Truffle Cream

My husband loved the baked linguine.

Sugar Snap Pea Soup with Roasted Button Shiitake Mushrooms

I did not like this as it lacked a different texture.

Main Course

Pan Roasted Chilean Sea Bass, Mussel-Saffron Jus, Potato Mille-Feuille

My husband had this and loved it.

Grilled Sturgeon with Soy-Verjus Emulsion

The sturgeon was very earthy, the flavor was too strong for me. Not my favorite.

We did leave some room for dessert though, and I’m glad I did because the Semifreddo was definitely worth it.

White Chocolate Semifreddo – Passionfruit Frozen Mousse with Coconut and Palm Sugar

Was very sweet but flavors were good.

The grand marnier souffle dessert very eggy. The portion was huge and we ended up not finishing it, but the fruit was fresh and the flavor was ok. It was not fluffy, pillowy egg white that you’d expect.

We ended the dinner with some coffee and butterscotch toffee.

Overall a great experience! Highly recommend Le papillon for your special night or just to spoil your taste buds.
